Revision eyewear, the training glasses worn by Mr. Windsor, Ilkka and yours truly, is available through Finnrappel Oy. These glasses are made of ballistics grade polycarbonate and take a real beating. They also come with holders for prescription lenses. Especially good for spectacle wearers, who have difficulty with spectacles under masks.

Those interested in this product, please post on this thread. If there's enough interest we might make a group order.
How much are they approximately?
40 euros or so for the basic model, frame+clear lens. The prescription lens holder, smoke/yellow lenses and other cool stuff are extra. That's a really good price - better than I got from Singapore, even. Shocking.
So how much for a pair that includes the prescription lens holders and lenses? Approx?
The whole deluxe set is 90-100 euros, including VAT.
I'll raise this thread again too see if there is any new interest. After seeing cloudy, double images for half the class yesterday, I'm strongly turning towards the thought of ordering a pair of these. Anyone else in?
If you get the 100 € set, you still have to take it to an optician to have the lenses adjusted, right?
I'm in, if the price is right.

From Ken's description I get the impression that the glasses come with (optional) lens holders, and you can just plug in your own prescription lenses. I just happen to have an extra pair of lenses and this would be a perfect use for them.

I gather from http://www.finnrappel.fi/revision1.htm that there are two sizes. Turns out the place is ten minutes from where I live, so I sent the guy an email asking about prices and if I can pick up a pair of each size. I'll bring them to the salle so people can try them on for size.
Risto is correct. The prescription lens holders make them look kind of goofy - you wouldn't want to wear them on the street - but it's fine when you're in a mask anyway.

If you're picking up a pair, Risto, could you get a lens holder for Guy as well? His has broken. Saves me a trip thanks. Big Grin
Sign me up as one of the interested. Risto, can you keep the sample eywear in the office for a while so I can try them on? It might be some time before I can make it to the salle.
