Beginners' Course, Helsinki February 7th

Welcome to the school!

We assume no prior knowledge or experience- everything, from standing still to swinging a sword will be covered from the ground up. The system we will cover comes from Fiore dei Liberi's Fior di Battaglia, from which we will take instruction on basic dagger defences, basic sword strikes, and basic sword defenses. You will also learn how to warm up properly.

The emphasis throughout will be on safe, careful training. Every student is expected to find themselves healthier at the end of each class than they were at the beginning.

The first class is free and without obligation: come and try it for yourself before deciding! 

This course runs for eight Tuesday evenings, February 7th-March 27th. Each class starts at 18.00 and ends at 19.30.

The course will cost 120€ (100€ for university students, under 18s, and unemployed). This includes the right to attend all basic level classes during February and March.

You will need a white t-shirt, dark training trousers, and indoor training shoes. Students under 18 years old will need to bring written consent from a parent or guardian. We recommend that students under 18 bring a parent along to watch the first class.
