Jyrki Talonen
I started practicing historical European martial arts after getting to know Mr. Guy Windsor in the year 2001. I have begun with the eastern martial arts, which I still keep on training.
My favourite weapon is the one that is at hand at any particular moment. However, training unarmed fighting is also very important. I find martial arts fascinating in many ways: it gives good exercise but is also stimulating subject of study, from historical and cultural to social and philosophical points of views.
Matias Toivanen
Matias Toivanen began training historical swordsmanship in Turku at autumn 2003, and has trained mainly Fiores techniques as taught by Guy Windsor.
Wishes to find inner peace and harmony with the world by learning the interesting ways people have maimed each other through history in the name of various noble and/or selfish reasons. And also finds swords and technique for their use to be very aesthetic.
